Razer Introduces the Viper Gaming Mouse Promising Three Times More Actuation Speed

Razer, a gaming hardware manufacturing company with dual-headquarters in the US and Singapore, has launched its lightweight gaming mouse ‘the Viper’ that features the new Razer Optical Mouse Switches. Launched in collaboration with esports professionals, the Viper is said to help gamers to get that perfect headshot in shooting games as it uses optical switches. According to a recent press release by Razer, the new mouse can triple the user’s actuation speed in games. The Razer Speedflex Cable can help gamers using the Viper to minimize desktop drag. The new mouse with Razer’s 5G Optical Sensor can help gamers to have absolute control in tournament and other competitive games.

“The Razer Viper has been designed ground up while collaborating with some of the top esports athletes from Team Razer. With our market-leading 5G sensor and Optical Mouse Switches in a lightweight, an ambidextrous mouse, The Viper delivers high-performance control and precision required for succeeding in any of today’s competitive games,” said Razer peripherals business unit’s Senior VP, Alvin Cheung.

The Viper is now available on Razer’s website for almost $80.

The Viper is Razer’s first mouse fitted with the new Optical Mouse Switches

Razer has been continually collaborating with some of the leading esports athletes in the world. This helped the company to introduce a number of tournament-standard features in the Viper that can be used for competitive play. The new mouse is the first one to feature Razer’s fastest Optical Mouse Switches that offer significantly higher actuation speed than conventional mechanical mouse switches. According to Razer’s press release, these switches do not require physical contact to send electrical signals to the computer. They can instantaneously respond to a finger press with the help of an infrared light beam. This helps users to exactly execute their actions according to their intent.

Gamer can use the Viper’s on-board DPI storage to store their personalized dots per inch (DPI) settings after adjusting them with the help of the Razer Synapse 3 software. This will help them to access their customized settings instantly, no matter where they are. Customizable with secondary functions and macros, there are eight programmable buttons available with the Viper, which gamers can use to have easy and fast access to critical actions.
